Joe photographed the unboxing and would like me to post pics. I will try and get to them tomorrow. Too tired tonight.

Forbidden fruit
After all my griping for a year about Joe and his MacBook I was finally convinced to take a bite out of Apple. I am typing this post on my brand new MacBook. All I know is this laptop better last longer than my Acer which croaked after about 2 years. Tommy is psyched though as he has been given the Acer, complete with random BSOD's. Joe and Tommy are a bit more excited about this than I am but it's cool. I have a presentation with my students to give at the next Home & School meeting in early March, so I really did need something as the Acer was totally unreliable. It just feels a bit indulgent. Happy Valentine's Day to me I guess. One thing I am totally excited about is not getting yelled at for going to spyware sites unknowingly for my smiley's. I guess Mac's are not susceptible to viruses and other crap.

Oh no-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!! She's gone to the other side! Not the end of the world, but as more and more people change over to the fruity equipment, I suspect Apples will be facing the same demise as PC's with spam and virus problems. Personally, I wouldn't have purchased the Acer in the first place. There are PC's and there are better PC's all of which are cheaper than fruity products. We'll be looking forward to a fabulous graduation dvd.
Welcome to the exciting world known as Mac... I don't think you will be disappointed :)
Oh man, I knew you would light me up Julie. It's one of those crazy things. I lived without one forever, then Joe gets me a cheap one on a Black Friday sale. Of course now, woe is me, can't live without one. :(
And yep, I definitely better have a fabulous graduation DVD. IMovie better be all it's cracked up to be.
Drew has always been a huge Apple fan. Right after Little Dude was born, he convinced me to go tot he dark side. It was a HUGE switch since I worked in a 100% pc software development company. The first week was a lot of frustration and since then, I have never looked back! I LOVE my MacBook!
Kiera Beth -Somehow I am not surprised about you and your Macbook, of course I already knew about you and your Iphone. Per hubby, I will absolutely be hooked in a week. But I just have to get over the initial shock. I never used Joe's and it is a bit different. The control button just doesn't work like I think it should, command button confusion!!! I don't know how people work interchangeably on both. And the darn delete key confusion!!! That is what's killing me so far.
We were at the Mac store this weekend at Somerset! I thought about you and Joe, didn't take a picture though.
So, now your a Macie! At least you have a new laptop, though! No more BSOD! What a nice gift, too!
Have fun acclimating:)
It's nice to see it spreading--it was about a year ago that we first corrupted Joe. Happy to see he made the choice to treat you right rather than buy new and hand down.
Now you'll have to get Twitter and you'll be hanging with all the cool kids.
I think my next computer will be a Mac for sure. I've heard so many good things and it seems once they start using one they don't want to use anything else.
Yes, yes, I've gone to the dork side. ;) So far it's okay, Joe is giving me all kinds of lessons. I just have to have patience.
Jason - I kind of forgot I had a twitter, he tells me you and Lance are following me now. I have two whopping tweets and one was a mistake as I was just trying to text Joe and texted the Blizzard. So I'm afraid I might be a boring tweep. And yes it was so great of Joe to let me have the new one and not the hand me down.
Oh you guys are nerds!!
I'm sticking with my cheap lenovo!
Dawn I hope you enjoy your Fruit.
Soon you will be in the Hospital blogging away.
Jill - You are right, nerds for certain. So far I do like my Mac. There are definitely some perks to it.
Can't wait for my blogging event from good ole Covenant. Fun times!
