Fireplace 1 ~ Tommy 0

Tommy ended his 5+ year ER drought by having his forehead cracked open Friday night. He wasn't playing the smartest. The goal was to run as fast as he could down the hall, jump on a laundry basket, then land on a pillow. Well the laundry basket shifted and he was too close to the fireplace and bang! Man that wound bled a lot. He was surprisingly not "too" freaked about it but was worried about having stitches until they said they'd put on some numbing gel first. They were debating between one stitch and the glue, the glue worked fabulously! He has no restrictions and even went to hockey yesterday where he had his team pictures. You can't really see it but his hair has this wild wave.

As you can see the dude needs some bigger hockey pants. I don't know how he's gotten so tall. He also needs new school pants and jeans, busted out of his tennis shoes, and his winter coat and snow pants were too small as well. How does this lucky kid get a new wardrobe and I don't? hehe.

And what's with the toothless grin??? All four pictures were like that.?#$?

Happy Sunday everyone.

Darn fireplace...glad he's ok, and didn't need stitches. I am sure the fireplace jumped right out in front of him....poor kid! I think Drew was about 5 when he busted his head open too....big glass vase fell on him, while he was goofie around, and they glued him up too!

Fireplaces seem to draw in some kids - can't go through life w/o having a major run in with one. Just ask Aaron. And I agree - head wounds bleed so much!!! Glue vs stitches: a little super glue and send you on your way.
Look at the change in the young man since the baseball picture. What are you feeding him?! Looking pretty handsome to me.

Thanks for commenting girls. I think he was the talk of school today.

Everyone has their horror stories once you get talking don't they? Hopefully this is one of VERY few to come from my household.

Thanks Jill - And yeah, the pants really need replacing. Thing is he tried on the next size up about a month ago and those were too big. Oh what to do!

Thanks Deb - Yeah, it just looks a little red. I think he definitely learned his lesson about safe play.
