Sickly Son

Poor Tommy has been battling some nasty virus since Monday. Joe stayed home with him T,W, and I stayed home today. He has this fever that just won't go away. He just woke up from a nap and was burning up. We hadn't given him anything since 4 am and I was hoping he had turned the corner but apparently not. The poor kid has ups and downs according to how the fever is. Such misery. I guess I'm thankful and just pray that Austin doesn't get it as fevers scare me with him and his seizure risk. The doctor today said it could take 7-10 days to get through him. That is nuts! He is starting to get worried about his hockey semi-final on Sunday. The team just needs to win that game and then they go to the finals at the Joe Louis Arena on March 14th. You can bet we are crossing our fingers for this win on Sunday. Tommy said today I don't care how sick I am, I'm gonna play on Sunday! I sure hope he is better by then. I think he will, I can't imagine this thing lingering on.

I don't think Tommy has been sick this long since his bout with pneumonia when he was 2. I'm ready for him to be better, this fever stuff is for the birds. Although I enjoyed my extra rest today, I'd rather be working with him healthy. So please send some healthy vibes our way!

oh, poor Tommy... saying a prayer for the sick little man! Luke gets the fevers when he gets sick and they just wipe him out! :( Hope he is well soon!
BTW--VERY belated happy birthday to him! I just got caught up on this blog, and realized he and Sammy share the day!! :) Thanks for the birthday wishes for Sammy on the post! :)

Sorry Tommy is sick...but you be careful so you don't end up with a nasty bug just a few weeks (or days) before you meet your little one.

Hope Tommy gets better soon and can help his team out on Sunday! Let us know how the game goes and if he makes it to "the Joe" on March 14th. How exciting would that be?!?! We'd love to go watch that game! Get well soon Tommy!

Thanks girls for the love. Unfortunately Tommy had his worst day today. His fever hit 105 and hasn't really gone below 103. Joe is taking him to Med Express because he is just miserable, isn't eating or drinking, and even with Meds the fever isn't going down. He's been a blob all day. It's not looking good for Sunday. But his team is good, they can pull it off without him...I hope. They lost 4-3 the only other time they played. It can go either way. Maybe tomorrow he'll be miraculously better, somehow I doubt it. We'll keep our fingers crossed for Aus too. He at least had a flu shot, the only smart one in the family it seems.

Thanks again.

Poor guy! Darn that he had to go to Med Express. Tell us what they say there...please. Glad Aus got the flu shot....as did both my boys. Is Tommy throwing up or just has a high fever? Those can almost be worse, as they make you feel so yucky all day! I seriously would have watched him this week if you guys needed me to. I very easily would have come there so he could sleep on his own couch or bed. IF things aren't better Monday...please call me if you need someone!

Sherri- He hadn't thrown up until tonight and that was all mental with the yucky medicine. It's just been flu like. Thanks for offering to watch Tommy, you don't want this nasty crap though. Joe is hoping this is it and he's really thinking he'll be better tomorrow and fine Sunday. I hope he's right.
