Tommy's craftiness.

In the fall, my MIL attempted to teach Tommy how to knit but gosh darn that's a hard skill to learn. She ended up getting him this neat little knitting loom this weekend and in a matter of a few hours he had made a nice little hat for the baby. He says he picked purple because it's my favorite color. It would be neat to add a little purple to the house but only time will tell. My question tonight is can a boy wear a purple hat?

What an awesome big brother and of course a boy can wear purple! But I think Tommy is telling you something by picking purple! Maybe he has that big brother instinct and he knows! Anyways.....the hat is a bit small for your head Tommy but all in all, its awesome that you made that for your new baby brother or sister! Hey and Tommy.....STOP GROWING UP! ahhhh your making me feel old! I watched you when you were 1 years old! I used to change your diapers! hehehe yes I can tell all your friends those kinds of stories at big get togethers! LOL : )

YES a baby boy can wear a purple hat especially one made by his big brother. I agree, knitting is a lot harder than it looks but WTG Tommy. If you are really worried about it, put a English D on the front and all will be well.

What a great big brother! That new baby will look great in that purple hat no matter what!

Thanks girls! I agree the purple will be a-ok. Of course with my fatty babies the hat probably won't fit anyways!

Sherri - I some days wish he would stop growing. The time is going by so quickly! I can still see him yelling up your stairs "Shay" & later Sherrdee. He was a baby at one point, and I didn't have wrinkles. ;)

Julie - Spring training is almost here!

HA! I also remember him yelling up to me! Sheerrrdeee........too cute! Thanks for putting a smile on my face!

We need to talk about the new baby and when you go back to work. Joe and I did a bit in FB. : )

How cute is that? He is so handsome too. Knitting is hard!!! I recently tried to pick it back up and couldn't remember how to get started. I had to go upstairs to grab my knitting book. Meanwhile my boys decided to take all of my yarn I had just rolled nicely in a ball and run around crazy with it. So I was exhausted from cleaning it back up and put the knitting and yarn needs away. Maybe this is why I stopped knitting years ago!!!

I agree no matter what purple would be great!!!

Cute hat, sweet thoughts! Tommy is going to be such a great help to you, as if he isn't already. You can certainly tell he is excited!

BTW - I love men in purple:)

Thanks girls!! You're all great. For the record I had another baby boy dream last night. I think my body is telling me something. It's always a boy in my dreams.

Sherri - Oh yeah?? Joe is being all mum, he and his FB.

Suze - Funny about the kids making your yarn a disaster, they are definitely worse than cats. ;) I've never been able to do any kind of crafting like that, I wish I knew how to.

Deb - After you become the crochet expert you can work on knitting.

I'll have to come visit one of these days and we cn talk about what your plans are after the baby is here since Joe hasn't talked to you about what we talked about! Let me know if your interested and when! I need to see my 2 favorite boys too!

Yeah Sherri, anytime you want to come out and visit is fine with us. We'll just have to plan a night or weekend afternoon or so and so.

*yawn* another Monday is here.

I just looked at my calendar, tonight your going shopping (saw Joe's FB status) tomorrow night we have to go to the funeral home...YET again! but wednesday night, Drew has basketball practice at 6:30 at your Church, I can drop him off, and come visit if that would work. See what you guys think about childcare for when you go back to school til summer vacation.....Joe and I chatted a bit in FB. Let me know if Wed night works. Thursday Adam has basketball and the weekends seem to fill up so fast lately. Thanks...plus I wanna see them boys! : )

Hmmm...Wednesday might work. It kind of depends if Joe goes to his Knights meeting or skips it. It's Tommy's birthday so if he goes to the meeting we'll stay home, if not then we might go to dinner or something. How about you call me Wednesday afternoon? We'll figure something out.

I can't imagine knitting. How awesome that Tommy is already attempting. I not only agree that purple is ok for a boy, Alex came home from the hospital in pink and purple stripes because...well, you know ;)

I love the hat! Tommy is a great older brother! I am so impressed with the hat, although he looks quite studly wearing it!

Let him know that Drew's Great Grandpa is a WWII vet that was on a ship that sank (he was rescued). He is one of the most "manly" men I know and he crochet all of his great grandchildren hats!

Dawn said...

Angie - Yup, the Libby saga. hehe. ;)

Kiera Beth - I will definitely tell Tommy about Drew's Great-Grandpa, what a story!

I totally forgot about tomorrow being Tommy's birthday! You guys go do something fun. We have time to chit chat before the baby is here! I'll check back next week and see if we can figure out a night!

That is fine Sherri, but we are just staying home because Tommy wants Joe to cook teriyaki chicken for him so if you change your mind just come on over.

I love purple! I think it's totally gender neutral especially for a baby. And what a lucky baby to have a hat knitted by big brother!

Thanks Barbara - Purple, it's the new green.
