Recycled Material

Happy New Year!

Austin Walking

I seem to be suffering from writer's block and can't think of anything exciting to post about. Recently Barbara's little Right-Hemi Bennett started walking on his own. Seeing his cute videos made me think about how excited we were when Austin started walking. The above video link (it's about 2 minutes long) was taken after Thanksgiving in 2005 so he had turned 2 about a month earlier. Amazingly he hadn't even been walking with assistance until that summer as he just wouldn't pick up those little legs. It was quick work once he decided he wanted to be upright. He could get anywhere by first back scooting and later butt scooting. I wish I had video of that, because that was just a neat yet strange sight to see. He always wore out his booty left pockets because he favored his left butt cheek. Austin still has struggles but my goodness to know how much worse things could have been and how far he has come just makes my heart sing.

So cute! Takes me back a few years! I know I never video taped him scooting either cuz our camera broke right around then! Darn, it was the cutest little scoot ever though, and to see him walking, sooo darn cute! thanks for sharing and taking me back! Just melts my heart!

I just love the per-walking stage.

I think I remember seeing him just as he started walking. I went back and it is not on your blog. Where would I have seen that.

What a goof ball. The video of Austin walking is the one I had seen. I did not look at that link.
I guess I must have something else on my mind.

I love old videos. Tommy was so little! Austie is so cute :)

Thank you all! Yes, Tommy looks so little, he was younger than Aus is now and such a great listener eh? Go by Daddy!! Nope, not moving.

Jill - You probably saw that video on the big screen in the lab. We had some sort of after school training and while we were waiting I showed it to all the staff. The person I remember the most being there was Judy Ann so it was during Sarah's maternity leave. That is probably why it triggered your memory. I guess I shouldn't have titled the post recycled material, maybe oldie but goodie.

I remember those days Dawn. It doesn't seem like that long ago. He is such a cutie!

Thanks Renee! I agree it doesn't seem possible that it was 3 years ago.

Oh my goodness is that cute! He is so little in it! I loved the food bribery! Amazing how much more smoothly things go when there is food involved :) (Reichen is the same way!)

Kiera - That food bribery is so bad and sadly it still works. Oh the power of food.
